Impressionist Photography

The theme of my photo series is the dark side of flowers. The theme is conveyed by the gloominess of the photos even though the flowers appear bright. My favorite image is the full red rose. To begin, I put a black vignette around the edges of the picture to make the rose pop. Then I added in another photo of a dirt texture to show where the flower comes from and to add darkness depth to the photo. This is my favorite image of all four because it best explains the message or theme I'm trying to show through all of these images. Even though there's darkness about the picture you can still see the true beauty of the rose. For example, on a rainy day, its dark and gloomy but a flower doesn't lose its beauty because of a little bit of rain.

Photo Emulation
Stock photography is when photographers put their pictures on a site or somewhere and let people use the photos, maybe a wedding planner or a florist to attract customers to their business. The photo on the right was on one of those sites and could be used for one of those things even though I used it for something completely different which was to "recreate" the photo by taking a picture of my own. I am unsure of who the photographer of the photo is.
